A strong product can help to build a strong brand, while a strong brand can help to sell more products. One cannot succeed without the other. Without a product, a brand cannot come to life.

What is it?

A brand can be defined as the values, identity, and promises that a company makes to its customers. A product, whether a service or an item, is what the company provides as a representation of that brand.

A company's products are key to building up its brand. The quality, durability, and presentation of the product all contribute to how respected the brand is. Without a product, customers wouldn’t be able to experience the brand and all it has to offer. On the same accord without a brand establishing itself making its presence known the product associated with it would have nothing to represent it.

Emotionally Connected

A product is primarily known for satisfying a need or solving a problem. For instance, something as simple as having a cup to hold a drink represents a product solving a problem. Once that problem is solved, it evokes a feeling of satisfaction, knowing you’ve found a solution, and trust, knowing the cup you’ve chosen will securely hold the liquid.

Brands can also evoke emotions by connecting with customers on a deeper level. For example, a brand like Mielle Organics doesn’t just sell high-quality hair products; it empowers women and men with curly hair, encouraging them to embrace their natural hair while learning about the right products to take care of it. When a brand’s connection to its audience is strong, it can result it customer loyalty.

Being Different

Although a brand relationship to its product are important, it is also important that the brand and its products alike evolve. The world is constantly changing and ensuring that both brand and product follow the worlds evolution is essential. The brand must be able to compete with those who produce similar products and entice customers as to why they should pick them over others in a similar market. I think it is important that a brand stays true to its core values but it is okay to evolve with the market.

The relationship between a brand and its products is harmonious. The product gives a brand meaning and demonstrates that it can follow through on its promises. Meanwhile, the brand provides the messaging that shows how the product can elevate the customer's experience. Combining them together creates success long term and trust between company and consumer.
